Creating Joy

This is my favorite picture. This picture, although blurry, stood out to me the minute I saw it. This is joy encompassed. This was one of the first events my family took my nephew to and we were having a regular uncle–nephew moment of me tossing him up in the air (the bow tie was just a bonus). He was grinning from ear to ear as he got tossed in the air and caught each time, his first time experiencing anything like that over and over again. The expression on his face showed me that there was literally nowhere else he’d rather be and he couldn’t possibly be having any more fun. This was joy in one snapshot.

That joy is what we try to bottle up and deliver on all of our projects. We strive to get that reaction from our clients, the minute they see what we’ve created for them. I think back to a conversation I had with a client where she told me she literally had tears in her eyes after she saw the brand and site we created for her. It wasn’t just a website to her. It was a realization that all of her dreams and the culmination of her vision and work for years to get to that point as an entrepreneur were not only valid and viable, but finally tangible. While we don’t have clients in tears with every project launch, I’m still struck by that conversation and the joy she felt that day. That joy is what we try to deliver day in and day out.
